Selective laser melting is additive production of metal products process, in which material is melted in a pre-formed layer. The scanning device laser fuses metal powder particles, connecting them together and growing product layer by layer.
Advanced Optics
Now the optical system allows us to achieve uniform heat distribution over the entire area of laser spot. As a result, we obtain products with lower porosity and lower internal stresses due to uniform fusion of metal powder. In addition, scanning device has the ability to move along the Y axis, which means we can change laser beam diameter from 60 to 120 microns.

Improved energy efficiency of laser fusion is achieved with the help of special optical element that converts standard Gaussian laser beam (with a peak in the center of the beam) to a distributed beam (with an average value in the center and with increased power along the spot ring). Due to this solution, the energy efficiency conducted to metal powder is increased by 20-30%.
